Job Profile / Main Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and guidance in executing internal audit plan across the Bank’s business units.
• Independently conduct audits in specialized areas such as Financial Reporting, Branch Operations, Credit, Treasury, Trade Finance, Risk Management, Compliance and IS Audit to ascertain adherence to Banks policies, procedures & external regulations, mitigation of perceived risks and internal controls are followed in all operational activities.
• Preparing planning documentation, submitting timely audit reports with relevant risk implications, and providing cost-effective recommendations for corrective action and qualitative improvements.
• Ensure the achievement of the annual audit plan, focusing on adding value to existing/new processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
• Engage in audit discussions with Senior Management (SM), ensuring appropriate action is taken to closure of audit observations.
• Identify potential concerns and recommend risk mitigation measures/corrective actions to SM.
• Interact with Maldives Monetary Authority and external auditors with respect to audit matters.
• Provide advisory support to the business in achieving corporate objectives while safeguarding regulatory requirements, internal controls, and prudent banking practices.
• Following the standards set by the IA Function in conducting the audit and collecting the recent updates to such a standard to keep up-to-date knowledge of best practices.
• Enhance personal and team skills through continuous learning on the latest developments and techniques in auditing/banking.

Applicant’s Profile
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Auditing or any related field with minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar field OR, Diploma in a related field with minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar field.
• Professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA) or MBA would be an added advantage.
• Familiarization and in-depth knowledge of corporate governance practices in the banking sector. 
• Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with internal, external audit and management.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking, a focus on data-centric decision-making, and the ability to tackle auditing challenges.
• Showcase strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and coach team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a high degree of computer literacy.
