LANDING CRAFT CAPTAIN – 01 No
Requirements:
• Basic level to associate with operation of vessels. Must possess Maldivian Maritime Training Certificate.
• 3-5 years’ experience as Landing Craft / Port Captain.
• Should have Boat Driving license.
• Possess Leadership skills; Strongly committed to teamwork.
• Good communication skills.
• Responsible to follow the maritime law, rules and regulations as set forth by the Ministry of Transport & Communication of the Republic of Maldives.
• Ensure for the safe operation of their vessel and must ensure that it is operated and crewed according to both company and legal guidelines.
• Monitor daily progress of the vessel, observing speed, engine pressure and water depths, and signalling any passing ships.
• To navigate vessels using maps, radars and lights by the use of electronic devices and the following of contour lines.
• Maintain boats and equipment on board, such as engines, winches, navigational systems, fire extinguishers, and life preservers.
• Tow and maneuver barges, or signal tugboats to tow barges to destinations.
• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot with high level of expertise.
• Following proper safety procedures and keeping track of all goods and people on the vessels.
• Able to thrive working under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary: Negotiable based on Experience & Qualification
